Lucinda Akins

Lucinda N. Kaiser, (Akins) Curless, 71, died April 20, 2022 in Hutchinson. She was born May 1, 1950, daughter of Malcolm and Esther (Doty) Akins, After graduation she was a stay home mother to daughters Suzanne, Teressa and Rayetta Davis. She also was a volunteer supervisor for church and school. She later became a supervisor for EMS Services. She later married Marvin Curless and they enjoyed Church life and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in between traveling to Alaska and California. We are so very happy and life is good. Her children, two sisters, Charlotte Coker and Della Redford and one brother Mike Akins survive her. Lucinda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marvin Curless; and one brother, Raymond Akins.

John Alden

John Freeman Alden, 68, passed away September 7, 2018 in Chicago. He was born May 2, 1950. Obituary did not list cause. John's family moved to Northrock, Illinois in 1968 and he resided in Illinois since then. Beloved husband of Vivian Caliendo Alden; dear step-father of Joseph Caliendo Sheahen; dear father of Olivia Caliendo Alden; devoted son of the late John R. Alden and the late Cornyn Davis Alden; fond brother of Kay Alden Nelson and Lucy Alden De Lap. Service Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Pompei Restaurant, 1531 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois 60607. James Scott Apps, 49, died Sept. 9, 2000, at a Topeka Hospital from a heart attack. He was born Oct. 15, 1950, at Fort Scott, KS, the son of Edwin Ray (died August 6, 1969) and Roma Lorraine Glenn Apps (died June 3, 1991). He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and attended one year of law school at Washburn University, Hutchinson. He owned ABR Armored Car Service and was a former sales rep at Builders Square, Topeka. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam 69-1970. On Sept. 5, 1970, he married Cheryl Denise Becker at Hutchinson. She survives and remarried to Robert Treinen 2001, Auburn, KS and he died June 2, 2012; brother Rodney Apps, Burrton. Funeral held at Mount Hope Chapel, Topeka. Burial in Buhler, KS, East Cemetery,
