Jack Lee Daines, 62, died July 5, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born April 28, 1950, to Leon and Kathleen (Reed) Daines. Jack was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing. Survivors include: his wife, Sue Daines; mother; daughters, LaDeana DeChane, Kim Brown, Jeanette Daines, Christy Herd and Jackie Anschutz; brothers, Tom and Bob Daines; sisters, Patty Bruce and Linda Ramsey; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Jeanette Sue. Graveside service July 10, 2012, in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
Roger Allen Daines, 68, was born on November 24, 1949 and passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018. Roger was a resident of Hutchinson, Kansas at the time of passing. Roger graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968, and then joined the United States Navy, serving for four years. He worked for various companies, retiring as a truck driver. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, Roger never knew a stranger. He enjoyed the outdoors: hunting, fishing, yard work (especially flowers, and woodworking. On December 7, 2000, he married Teresa (Turner) Walters. They enjoyed almost 18 years of marriage. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service May 30, 2918, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, KS. The United States Navy Honor Guard will conduct military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Council of Reno County.

David Frank Danks, 65, of Bentonville, Ark, left this life for a much better one at Willard Walker Hospice in Fayetteville, Ark. on Sunday, April 17, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on June 16, 1950, in Greenville, Kentucky, to the late Betty Jean and David Danks. Dave grew up in Hutchinson, Kansas and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1968. After serving two years in the U.S. Navy, Dave returned to Hutchinson where he worked at Jackson's Ice Cream until he retired in 1998. He married Becky Haisty Paneitz in 1998 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and they started their life together in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he embarked upon his new career in golf course maintenance. In August 2003, Dave and Becky moved to northwest Arkansas where he lived until his death. His parents and his grandparents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Becky Paneitz-Danks; two sons, Dustin, of Hutchinson and Dannon, of McPherson, Kan.; three sisters; Pat Buxton (Gene) and Dee Drozkowski (Frank) of Hutchinson, Kan. and Collette Miller (Butch) of Wichita, Kan.; and one brother, Rick Danks, of Muleto, Wash. Memorial services, April 20, 2016 in the chapel in the Bild Training Center at Fellowship Bible Church in Rogers, Arkansas.

Mary Ellen (Day) Sloan, 32, died September 21, 1983 from Leukemia at M.D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, Texas, after a long illness. Mary was born Oct. 8, 1950, in Salina. She married Jim Sloan June 1, 1968, in Hutchinson and he died July 28, 2018 in Willow Springs, MO. She was a designer at Hutchinson Floral and had lived in Hutchinson for most of her life. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church and Salt City Four Wheelers. Survivors: son, Matthew; mother, Betty Hinds, Hutchinson; sister, Marie Henson, Hutchinson. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Johnson and Sons Memorial Chapel. Burial at Lerado Cemetery. Memorials to the Mary Ellen Sloan Memorial, in care of First National Bank.

Larry E. Dodge, 64, died Feb. 14, 2015 at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1950, the son of Leroy Eugene and Melva Cooper Dodge. He was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, class of 1968, and had received his Bachelor of Theology from Baptist Bible College and Bachelor of Music Education from Oklahoma Baptist University. He was a music teacher for Hutchinson Schools and retired from Holy Cross Catholic School in May of 2012. Since retirement he has substituted for various schools. He was a very active member of Westside Baptist Church. He loved to sing and was known for his singing voice. On August 12, 1972 he married Phyllis Hall in Hutchinson. She survives. Funeral services conducted at Westside Baptist Church, Hutchinson. Burial followed at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.

U.S. Veteran Terry Wayne Dunsworth, 74, of Hutchinson, died May 6, 2024, at his home. He was born July 18, 1949, in Hutchinson, to Junior M. and Veda R. (Stringer) Dunsworth. Terry graduated from Hutchinson High School. He served in the United States Army from 1969-1971 and received the National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service & Campaign Medals. Terry worked at Morton Salt, most recently as a forklift operator, for nearly 47 years before he retired. He was a master of all trades, working in a furniture store when younger, built houses, made cane chairs, did mechanic work, and loved working in his yard. Ornery in fun-loving way, Terry loved to care for others, doing whatever he could to be helpful. Hard-working and dedicated, Terry enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling to visit family, and dressing as Santa Claus and passing out candy canes to folks who came by his house during the holidays. He was a member United Steel Workers Local 12606 and CrossPoint Church, where he was active for many years until his health started to decline. On July 20, 1972, Terry married Patricia Lynn “Pat” Robinson, in Hutchinson. She survives. Also surviving are: his children, Angela Cottrell (Curtis) of Hutchinson, Teresa Ratzloff (Chris) of Yukon, OK, Jeremiah Dunsworth of Hutchinson; sister, Geanetta Renner of Hutchinson; brother, Jerry Dodson (Regina) of Wellington; grandchildren, Michael Dunsworth (Brittany Blackwell) of Hutchinson, Caitlin Fairchild (Charles Hensley) of Hutchinson, Cody Thomas of Hutchinson, Kimber Thomas of Hutchinson, Kyra Thomas of Yukon, OK, Aryka Martinez of Yukon, OK, Parkyr Ratzloff of Yukon, OK, Dean Ratzloff (Lilith Andrews) of Buhler, Aaron Ratzloff (Araya) of Hutchinson, Nathan Ratzloff of Hutchinson; 7 great-grandchildren; stepmother, Marie Dunsworth of Inman; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his father, Jr. Max Dunsworth; brother, Marvin Dunsworth; sister, Marilyn Curless; and mother, Veda Downs. Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with military honors presented by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
