Stella Josephine Marquez, 70, formerly of Hutchinson, died October 14, 2020, at her home. She was born January 16, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Juan Lopez and Louisa (Gomez) Marquez. Stella graduated from Hutchinson High School, class of ’68, and attended Wichita State University.

She worked for over 20 years as a cosmetologist at various salons in the area. Stella enjoyed cooking, crotcheting, and volunteering for community service organizations, such as being an interpreter for First Call for Help. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, South Hutchinson.

Parish Rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2020, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the church.  Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to ICT-SOS End Human Trafficking, in care of Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
